Daybreak Adult Daycare centers begins expansion funds drive
Daybreak Adult Daycare Center launches a capital campaign to raise matching funds for a major expansion. The kickoff at the center on Rocky Springs Road Frederick featured honorary co chairs Dr George S Smith Jr and Rev Fred Wenner and architectural drawings by Gary D Baker. Fredericktown Bank and Trust Co. received special recognition for volunteer support. Brian Gaeng accepted a Maryland Office on Aging award for bank volunteers. The program, a United Way agency opened April 3 1989 and now serves 43 per day with a waiting list. The expansion aims to more than double capacity and add services including personal care, in house therapies, expanded counseling, care coordination, and respite care. The center partners with local schools and colleges for service learning and internship programs.

Myersville Water Plant Groundbreaking Expands Capacity
Myersville begins work on a new drinking water facility funded by 763,375 in grants and 1,776,836 in loans from the Maryland Department of Environment. The project upgrades treatment to 144,000 gallons per day and doubles wastewater capacity to 300,000 gpd, with new screens pumps digester and upgrades to piping and electrical systems.
