Claire Wachter and Keith Koons, Frederick natives, perform a clarinet and piano recital at the Weinberg Center on Sunday March 29 at 3 pm. The benefit supports a grand piano for the Weinberg Center as part of a four concert series by the Frederick City and County Arts Council. Tickets run four dollars for adults two for students and seniors with a one dollar discount for tag holders.

Arson charges against Thurmont man dismissed
James Edward Gray, 30, of Catocun Furnace Road, had felony arson charges dropped after a preliminary hearing failed to link him to a February fire at his mother’s home. Fire investigators said the blaze started at two points, with direct combustion, and no gasoline found. Gray was treated for injuries after reentering the home, and his public defender argued there was no probable cause to pursue circuit court action.

City man held for robbery and theft charges
Frederick man Robert Eugene Fisher faces a circuit court action on alleged strong arm robbery and theft of a wallet from a Frederick resident. At a preliminary hearing Judge Mary Ron Stepler heard officer testimony linking Fisher to the Feb. 14 robbery near Maple and Trail avenues. Fisher denied guilt, was released on bond pending circuit court proceedings.
