Poor Fishing Seen For Area Residents
Brisk March winds up to 25 mph chased away rain showers after .69 inches fell in the county. Clouds keep highs in the 30s, with a 34 low last night. Sunday should be sunny with 40s, but a poor weekend for dip netting as Monocacy Potomac and Shenandoah rivers stay high and muddy. Extended outlook shows mostly cloudy with a chance of rain Monday and Tuesday, highs in the 50s and 60s midweek.

Sanitary Board Seeks $46,516 County Funding for 1972
The Frederick County Metropolitan Sanitary Commission asked county commissioners for $46,516 to support a $166,708 operating budget for fiscal 1972, with $120,192 recoverable from agency projects. The request marks about a $12,000 county increase, with $70,000 earmarked for the Eastaleo water plant funded by the aluminum company. A $4,000 county item would finance a Liberty area sewer and water feasibility study next year. Salaries for inspectors are recoverable with contractor funding, while a clerk paid by the county will handle office and field work.
