Frederick actions mix parks and planning with city bids

McCurdy (Continued From Page One) reports a proposal to plant wildflowers and Willows along Carroll Creek with three fish ladders and dredging, plus an ordinance limiting fishing to hooks and lines. The city inspector finds 196 substandard dwelling units in Frederick, with 98 visited so far and mostly cooperative residents. The city denies two land sales, including a Krupt walkway dispute, and refuses a corner of the city landfill to the Frederick County Agricultural Society. It adopts a no parking ordinance, approves an oversized water connection for the Moose lodge, allows YMCA canoe lessons on Culler Lake, and considers school guard duties and civil defense sirens. The Jaycee Wives get a Halloween concession, and the lane through Public Works Yard may be closed for fencing with bills paid at 30,814.47.
