Frederick to get modern street lights on Market and Patrick
The City of Frederick will install fluorescent street lighting along Market Street from South to Seventh and Patrick Street from East to College avenues. The project may cost 37000 to 55000 for equipment with 50 percent borrowing, no interest, and half material paid this year. The plan aims to improve traffic safety and curb crime while boosting business appeal. A parkway from Cumberland to Hancock, linking canal sites, is also backed by the National Park Service and Senator Beall to preserve the canal and provide scenic access.
