Energy shortage disrupts TJ school and activities
Frederick residents and Frederick Thomas Johnson High School endure energy cuts forcing reduced heating and lighting. Classrooms stay dim, home economics and shop projects shrink. Phase II cold lunches replace hot meals, extracurriculars canceled or moved outside. Spring musical and prom face delays with rehearsals at homes and tentative rescheduling.

Chorus Exchange Brings Catoctin and Walkersville Leaders Together
Catoctin High School and Walkersville High School hosted a chorus exchange program. Beginning choruses prepared the same music and performed together on March 6 for Catoc tin students and on March 8 for Frederick County Student Council members at Walkersville High School. Fidel Ligsay of Catoctin played piano accompaniment.

Vo Tech students win contest in Maryland
Two Frederick County Vo Tech students won awards in the Maryland Vocational Education Week poster contest. John Shewbridge took third in the Vo-Tech School Division and Brenda Valentine earned honorable mention. Prizes were given by Lt Governor Blair Lee at the State House on Feb 16.
