Stone Downs Frederick In State Action
In a Tuesday night semi final class B state tournament game at Cole Field House Thomas Stone defeated Frederick 47 to 41. Frederick coach Bill Brooks blamed missed free throws and a non called foul on Ralph Swann’s late drive as the turning point. Alonzo Greenfield’s late basket gave Stone the lead for good while Frederick’s shooting from the line was below its usual mark.

Frederick Falcons Leave Seaboard for Amateur League
The Frederick County Association of Retarded Children voted to move the Frederick Falcons from the Seaboard Football League to an amateur league due to finances and to avoid paying players. The decision, supported by subcommittee member Sidney Bloom, aimed to keep football in Frederick while preserving cost efficiency and local play. The shift followed reports of paid players in the SFL and prospect of higher travel costs, with some Falcons players expected to join SFL clubs.
