Dig Down Young Man Sees Gold Digging Less Worth While

Representative Engle of California argues the youth should quit old diggings and seek new ones. California gold production in 1952 totaled 8,874,355 dollars while the winter carrot crop reached 8,978,000 dollars. Carrots are claimed as a worthy food with a place in the economy, yet comparing carrot mining to gold mining lacks romance. A colleague notes that rabbits do not wear grass, implying there may be gold in carrots after all.
