Little Steel Formula Fades as Wage Inequalities Rise
Washington reports the little steel formula is vanishing as the War Labor Board shifts to addressing wage inequalities. Most workers already gained the 15 percent general increase since 1941, with many industries raising pay above that level before wage stabilization. Regional WL B offices note rising voluntary adjustments while some sectors see limited benefit from raising the formula to 20 percent.
