First lady meets Iowa farm families on health care
First lady Hillary Rodham Clinton heard from five rural families about soaring health insurance costs and limited medical access during a visit to Slater Iowa. She chairs a 100 day health care reform drive noting the task force aims to broaden affordable coverage though not all will agree. Senator Tom Harkin said rural residents pay higher shares and are more often uninsured, with many lacking access. The farm visit followed forums by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, including Des Moines Ankeny session after Tampa kickoff.
