Computer Card Ballots Spark Northeast Vote Test in Braintree
In Braintree Massachusetts town election, 6427 of 17000 voters cast ballots as 44 spoiled ballots caused repunching delays. Clerk Carl R Johnson praised computer card ballots that produced a 3 hour 31 minute tally with officials watching via closed circuit TV. The experiment, authorized by state law, marks a regional trial before broader adoption.
