Log And Frame Farm House Destroyed By Fire
A 10 room log and frame farm house on Manor Woods Road near Buckeystown was destroyed by a stove fire in the kitchen Wednesday afternoon. Estimated losses to building and tenant William Johnson’s personal property run to 16000, with most belongings lost. The 166 year old structure was beyond saving before Carroll Manor firemen arrived at 3 PM, embers spread despite hours of effort. The Johnson family took up temporary residence in Virginia as firefighters doused remaining ruins.
