Carling C Co Hearing Aimed at Maryland Brewery Ban
Gov. McKeldin heard arguments on a bill to prohibit foreign owned breweries from operating in Maryland. Carling C Co spokesman said past letters by Canadian Breweries’ chairman reflect old competition, not current operations. Attorney John W. Avirett argued changes in Canada’s market since the 1930s make the warnings obsolete.
