Paris reports Prince Henri de Bearn et Chalais could not secure French court aid to claim $240,000 from a Baltimore bank as part of a fortune left to his wife Beatrice Winans. Harrisburg March 13 The governor argues the House lacks power to probe executive affairs and refuses subpoenas totaling a constitutional conflict. He says officers may not be compelled by a legislative investigative committee, and pledges to share information lawfully requested while directing department heads to decline responses until formal requests arrive. The dispute centers on separation of powers and the governor’s authority in state government. Also reported is the death of Arthur W. Moss, 63, railroad official in Reading from indigestion en route home from work.
