Two Shot In Pool Room Fight Leaves Men Injured
A 21-year-old New London man was charged with assault and battery and assault with intent to kill after a pool hall shooting at 2 30 a m during an argument. Victims Donald Eugene Lyles 26 and Andre Hyatt Van Ravensburg 19 of Mt Airy were treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Richard C Dorsey 23 of Mt Airy remained jailed on similar counts.

Swindlers Foiled By City Woman
A Frederick resident foiled a swindle by two women and a man who targeted her as she entered a downtown bank. The group offered a sham envelope, talked of a Cuba address, and proposed a $3,000 payment from her account in exchange for $6,000 of purportedly in the envelope. Police report identities and ages of the suspects and say the case is under investigation by the detective bureau.

The Frederick City Planning Commission will review the largest rezoning case in city history on Monday night. The 216 acre former Peters farm, now owned by Baer and Morse, would be split into 60 acres for R-2 single family homes, 90 acres for R-3 and R-4 types, with 45 acres set for a public park and seven acres for a future Morocacy Village Elementary School. A private sewer line valued at $230,000 would be installed if annexation fails. The site lies near Fort Detrick Disposal Plant, the Odd Fellows Home, and Monocacy Village, with frontage on the Monocacy River.
