Major Changes In Report On Eisenhower Economy Debated
Republicans pushed major changes to a Democratic sponsored report criticizing Eisenhower era economic policy. The pared down version drops much of the gloom and some criticisms while adding a separate Democratic statement on policy impact. The two parties plan to publish a combined, yet tempered, view highlighting recovery signs and calls for faster public works and tax adjustments. An unrelated note reports Wilmer W. Miller arrested in Baltimore for income tax evasion covering 1948 and 1949.
