Obando Battles Fielding Hurdles in Orioles Bid
Sherman Obando, a 26 year old slugger, struggles to secure a spot on the Baltimore Orioles 25 man roster as fielding reform and position shifts test his patience. Once a Rule Five draftee from the Yankees, he split time with Triple A Rochester after two solid years there scoring .315 with 29 homers and 122 RBIs in 194 games. The Orioles moved him from outfield to first base this spring to sharpen defense while he pursues a breakthrough to remain in Baltimore.
