CAP seeks new home as fund drive lags
Civil Air Patrol units struggle to raise $100000 for a new headquarters after old 100 year old Frederick Municipal Airport building was deemed hazardous. Donors including McCormick Paints and the Elks Club contributed about $10000 in cash and materials while Hood College offers a farmhouse on Bowman Farm as temporary housing. Squadron members and parents volunteer to ready the site by April. Major Jerry Stiller notes minor renovations needed but the site is sound. Call 663-3179 to donate.
