Weather outlook for Maryland cools then warms

A cold front will bring fair and cooler conditions tonight across Maryland with clouds returning Wednesday as a southern Great Plains storm moves into the Ohio Valley by Thursday. Temperatures rise again by week’s end as the system winds down. Western Maryland clears tonight then clouds up Wednesday with light rain possible by evening. Maryland mountains clear and breezy today, then increasing clouds with a chance of showers late Wednesday. Yesterday’s highs and lows ranged from Frederick 75 to Westminster 74 with lows around 40.

Weather system to bring showers across broad region

The National Weather Service forecasts a wide area of showers for Wednesday extending from the Gulf to the eastern Plains, Midwest and Appalachians. Snow flurries and snow are expected across much of the Plains, with showers also forecast for the northern Pacific coast.

Stepler Elevation to Circuit Court Faces Ceremony

Stepler circuit court judge appointment continues from Page A-1 with praise for Judge Sweeney aiding the ascent. Surrounded by about 20 judges from federal and state benches, the event drew nearly the entire Sixth Judicial Circuit including Montgomery and Frederick counties. Presiding were Judges Cahoon Smith Dwyer and retired Judge Barrick as Stepler began circuit court duties this morning.
