Amputate Foot Of Child After Accident
A six year old Thurmont schoolgirl Carlotta Louie Smith was maimed when a school bus ran over her left foot near Thurmont Elementary. The foot was amputated above the ankle at Frederick Memorial Hospital and her condition was listed as satisfactory. Driver Elwood Ruffle was identified. investigators deemed him not at fault.
