Need Is Businessman Says Mahoney for Maryland Governor
Baltimore March 10 George P Mahoney urged that a businessman must lead Maryland to cut soaring state costs. He blasted Gov McKeldin and rival Byrd for expanding budgets and warned the next governor must ask where the money comes from. Mahoney, running for the Democratic nomination, wants to level spending and close the income deficit with efficient operation. He declined to name his final pick for the nominee, insisting only a businessman can rein in state spending. In a separate note, Woodsbury Girls 4H discussed transportation for recreation night and a sewing machine care demonstration led by Miss Betsy Lovington.
