Forrests Fight and Selma Clash in Civil War Battle
In late March and early April 1865 Forrest engages Wilson’s Union cavalry near Selma Alabama. The action centers on a hard fought assault across Bogler’s Creek and into Selma with fierce saber exchanges, artillery and reinforcements shaping a contested fight to control the town and surrounding ridges as both sides suffer heavy losses.
