The Demev 55 city executive of Hagerstown fixed a Tuesday meeting the hostile charter debate. Candidates include Endy Mealy and Wm. F. L. Orndort for forming cont tants. A town vote on the proposed charter will be held on the 23rd with the mayoral election, as debate continues over changes.
A fire at 8 50 last night in the frame grocery store and dwelling of ALM Cramer at Union Bridge Maryland was checked by citizens preventing a large conflagration. Cramer’s loss due to water and broken doors and windows is insured by North American Philadelphia. The owner is Jesse Clarey of Frederick County. Also noted is the death of Rev J B Inskip editor of the Christian Standard and Home Journal in Ocean Grove New Jersey after several months illness. Funeral at Asbury Church New York this afternoon.
A dispatch from Oil City reports a group of underage would be cowboys in Franklin planned to poison their mothers and depart west. The young crew, led by "Deadwood Jim," were stopped after a servant girl overheard the scheme and alerted parents. Straps in the wood shed followed.
Mrs Wood ward Kirkleff of Upper Pottagrove Montgomery county Pennsylvania died from self inflicted fire after leaving her bed during a malarial fever. She resisted attempts to extinguish the blaze and perished from burns.
