Consolidation Coal Company announced the closure of Lynco near Oceana in Wyoming County, Buckeye, and Eckman No 9 near Keystone in McDowell County. The three mines employ 544 workers and will not reopen. Lynco yielded 287,000 tons, Buckeye 194,000 tons, and Eckman 36,000 tons last year.
