President Eisenhower rejected flying supply planes to West Berlin at altitudes above 10 000 feet after reviews by the State and Defense Departments. Secretary Herter said the step is not necessary now but Allies retain right to fly higher if needed. The briefing also covered Cuba Japan Adenauer and Latin America policy shifts. A note on missing Adolph Coors II mentioned crank calls to his family.

Polaris 900 Mile Flight Advances Missile Test
NAVAL A Florida report states a streamlined Polaris flew 900 miles in a test of advanced flight control equipment. The Navy called the shot a success with the second stage igniting after liftoff and a dummy warhead aimed down the Atlantic range. Modifications to flight control hardware mark normal development toward an operational missile. Earlier tests had six straight successes before a Feb. 26 flight went out of control and was destroyed.
