Neighbors Help Rebuild Guyton Barn After Fire

In Burkittsville Maryland a community of neighbors and local groups rushed to erect a new 50 by 120 foot barn and milking parlor for the Guyton family on Arnoldstown Road after a January barn fire. About 75 men worked on walls rafters and roof while 50 cows were cared for by Randy Sowers. Construction head Jim Remsburg said flooring and piping will follow in two to three weeks as material donations and volunteer labor underline the valley's farming spirit and concern for preserving Frederick County farms.
