Dole Victory Surprises Loyalists in Maryland Primary

Len Bob Dole swept eight Junior Tuesday primaries winning Maryland with 53 percent, more than double Pat Buchanan’s 21 percent. Bridge under construction on Md 26 over Monocacy River at Ceresville

Work proceeds on a new two lane Md 26 bridge over the Monocacy River at Ceresville with a 1.1 mile section from Trading Lane to Md 194 under way since late November. The congested route carries about 28 000 cars daily and has seen recent accidents. The State Highway Administration seeks bids to upgrade and repave Md 26 from Unionville Road to Carroll County Inc with drainage work and asphalt overlay. The project should start in June and finish in late fall with periodic lane closures but no full road closure.

Man Faces Battery Charges in Domestic Call

Robert Lee Hendricks, 43, of 521 E Potomac St, was charged at 1 40 p m with four counts of battery against officers one count of battery against his wife Brenda Hendricks one count of battery against his 15 year old daughter and resisting arrest after a domestic violence call.
