Two acquittals and six tied over in marijuana case
District Court Judge Byron W. Thompson acquitted two of eight defendants charged with marijuana possession following a city raid on October 19, 1974 at 45 John Hanson Apartments. He ordered defense and state prosecutors to file briefs within two weeks before ruling on the remaining six defendants. The defendants include Charles R. Brown Jr. and Sheila Dorsey Sewell among others.

Four county civic associations plan a March 12 meeting at 7 30 p m at Hyattstown Fire Department Hall to discuss a proposed Flintkote concrete batching plant near Sugarloaf Mountain. They oppose the 29 acre M 2 zoned site amid surrounding agricultural land and note a public hearing by the Frederick County Planning Commission.
