Wholesale prices decline in February amid cooling inflation
February wholesale prices fell for the third straight month led by farm goods. Unemployment benefits reached a record weekly high with over six million claims in mid February, while initial claims for Feb 22 fell 43,700. Gambling in private clubs favored in Thomas proposal
Maryland senator Edward P. Thomas introduced a bill to permit gambling in Frederick County private clubs under Article 27, Section 255. The Frederick County Board of Education approved plans for North Frederick Elementary School by a 3 to 2 vote with Col. Frederick L. Smith casting the deciding aye.
