Musial Aims To Match Hornsby Batting Record
St. Louis star Stan Musial, fresh from a 376 batting mark, seeks the NL title in back to back years. He says he feels stronger, weighs 172 pounds, and plans to hit for more base reach rather than home runs to lift his average. He hopes Spring training and weight gain boost his form as Tri-County League votes for 1949 season set fields and schedules.
