Maryland Tract and Mt Pleasant Women’s Club Meetings

Maryland Tract Women’s Club met at Mrs O L Pry near Burkittsville March 3 with 37 members and 4 visitors. Mt Pleasant Woman’s Club met February 28 at Mrs William Maser’s home with 16 members 2 visitors and Miss Florence Williams present. Both clubs heard reports, songs, and demonstrations on color and gardening. A future meeting date was set and statewide remarks on Maryland’s history were given by Prof L T Worthington. Navajo Indians in Arizona blame a new air route for weather troubles saying planes scare the rain bird.

Land donation drive for Harpers Ferry shrine advance

Washington report on a campaign by the Harpers Ferry Historic Committee to raise funds for a 300 acre national shrine spanning West Virginia Virginia and Maryland near Harpers Ferry. Missionary Program Set By Reformed Church at Mt Pleasant

The Mt Pleasant Reformed church plans a missionary program Sunday evening at 7 30. Featured performers include solo violin and piano solos by Miss Martha Miller and Miss Geneva Ely, readings by Miss Jane Miller and Mrs George K Ely, a duet by Eunice Ely and Margaret Routzahn, an address by Rev George K Ely, and a duet by Charles and Kenneth Shook accompanied by Mrs Denver Shook.
