Golden wedding anniversary celebrated in Hyattstown
In Hyattstown Maryland on March 2 Mr and Mrs Samuel P Miles celebrated fifty years of marriage with a reception at their home. The couple married February 28 1888 in Clarksburg Maryland. Mr Miles is 71 and Mrs Miles 69. They are lifelong Montgomery county residents and were assisted by their children and children in law Charles W Miles Forest Glen Luther Thompson Gaithersburg Philip C Linthicum and Edward H Miles Jr. Also noted is a report on rice farming using modern agricultural implements in the Murrumbidgee irrigation area of New South Wales Australia.

Woodsboro Lutheran church hosts reception for new pastor and wife
The Woodsboro Lutheran charge plans a reception for Rev. and Mrs. H. H. Schmidt, the pastor elect, to be held Friday at the Woodsboro church. The couple, who moved into the parsonage Wednesday, previously served at Harney Maryland and Mr. Joy Pennsylvania charges. Installations scheduled for Sunday include two services with a 10 30 a m morning service at Haughs church near Ladiesburg where Rev. Dr. W. C. Waltemyer will deliver the charge to the four-congregation group.
