Williamsport man pleads guilty to fatal shooting
A Williamsport man pleaded guilty to first degree murder and received a 50 year sentence for the August shooting of his former girlfriend in Hagerstown. John Stephen Weir, 38, shot Tima Marie Vinzant, 34, on a sidewalk after she left with another man, then killed himself. Weir and Vinzant had previous ties and a child, per police reports.

Cyclist seriously hurt in Frederick motorcycle crash
A 35 year old Frederick man Paul G Rutkowski riding a Yamaha 750 without a helmet was seriously injured Monday afternoon on Bel Aire Lane. He was in serious but stable condition at Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center Baltimore after the bike struck a curb a utility pole and a tree. Officer Eric Stanley investigated.
