Tax Exempt Status Extended to Fraternal Clubs in Maryland
Annapolis Feb 23 The Senate approved a tax exemption for Maryland fraternal organizations and women's clubs, narrowing the scope to non-commercial groups. The House must concur after a tightening amendment. The measure stems from Allegany County tax disputes and faces Gov Lane’s final action. Also, pension recipients may draw unemployment checks with House concurrence needed. 4-H club meeting noted at Woodsboro with officers elected and March-April programs planned.
