All American Airways launches Frederick to Washington service
All American Airways will run one direct daily flight from Frederick to Washington starting Monday with a 25 minute Washington leg and 27 minute return to Frederick. Non mail flights 102 and 103 bypass Baltimore, while four air mail flights include Baltimore and Washington stops. Fares start around four dollars with 40 pounds baggage, and schedules list flights 100 through 105 with precise timings. Ralph LeComte, the local manager, says printed schedules will be posted and fares will drop starting March 15.

Two Hurt In Auto Accident Near Hyattstown
Two people were injured in an automobile collision about 12 30 this morning two miles north of Hyattstown. Miss Mary Thomas 18 and Miss Bertie Dodson 40 both of Washington suffered head and leg lacerations with bruises and burns. They were treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Vehicle damage was about 300 dollars to a 1947 Olds coupe owned by Samuel Belcher 23 of Dickerson and 100 dollars to a 1937 Ford coupe owned by James Chaney 27 of Clarksburg. State Trooper Arthur M Rudy investigated the crash.

Fort Meade March 2 The Army headquarters announced a reduction and reorganization of the recruiting service in seven states to take effect April 1. Five Month Old Girl Dies After Choking Incident
In Bethesda on March 2 a five months old girl, Deborah Grieves, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard C. Grieves, was found unconscious in her playpen by the maid at about 3:30 pm. She died shortly before 5 pm despite oxygen treatment. Dr. Frank J. Broschart, Montgomery County medical examiner, said the child fell forward and forced a rattle down her throat.
