More Severe Tests For Drivers Suggested
Ocean City report on June 22 cites Major Ruxton M Ridgely of Maryland Police Association urging tougher driver tests to cut accidents. He calls for a half hour reading list a written exam a thorough medical check and a detailed driving test beyond the current quick spin and eye test. Licenses currently renew with no ongoing review. Ridgely criticizes existing tests saying warmth and the ability to stop and start a car are not adequately assessed and contribute to fatalities.
