Final plans are set for the 17th Annual Reunion of surviving members of Company A 115th Infantry 29th Division to be held at the Francis Scott Key Hotel on June 26 and 27. Over 100 attendees expected. Memorial Service at 2 p.m. Saturday at War Memorial Mt Olivet Cemetery open to the public. The unit trained at Fort Meade and Camp Bland ing before sailing on the Queen Elizabeth then fighting at St Lo and landing at Omaha Beach on D Day. New Windsor to Get a New Post Office
New Windsor will receive a larger post office on Maple Avenue east of High Street. The building will cover about 12 650 square feet with parking and space for postal vehicles and will be leased to the government while owned privately. Two Groups Gather at Hood College Retreats
About 250 people from Washington area travel to Hood College for weekend gatherings. The D C Baptist Brotherhood Council holds its 14th annual laymen’s retreat with 200 expected, while about 50 Washington Presbyterians from the Presbyterians Mariners join in a family-group structure. Registrations begin Friday at 4 pm in Gambrill Gymnasium. The Baptist retreat ends after Sunday lunch. the Mariners close Sunday evening. Main theme for the Baptist retreat is That the World May Know, with sessions led by men and the Royal Ambassadors aged 12 to 17. Morning devotions run Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 am in Hudson Theater. Three 45-minute panel discussions occur Saturday morning on Witnessing to Win, Challenge of Today’s World, and Assuming Citizenship Responsibilities.
