Maryland Delegation Splits on Tax Cap and Budget Vote

Maryland House members diverged on tax cap and budget compromise votes. The 5-3 budget resolution approval contrasted with a 6-2 stance for the third year Reagan tax cut, margins showing broad support yet notable dissent. Rep. Roy Dyson split, opposing the budget but backing the tax cap, while Rep. Beverly Byron supported both measures, citing deficit concerns and stimulative tax relief. Other delegates offered varied reasoning on spending levels, deficits, and economic impact.
