Melanie Webster was named Maryland Fire Prevention Queen at the state firefighters convention in Ocean City. The Carroll County teen has held titles including Miss Taneytown Fire Prevention and Maryland Miss Teen in 1941, and plans a double major in psychology and sociology while working part time at Bubl's in Taneytown. She will travel statewide to promote fire safety and has met Governor Hughes and Rep. Byron.
