Former Detrick Workers Rehired By Litton Bionetics
James C. Nance, president of Litton Bionetics, said 40 former Ft. Detrick Biological Warfare Laboratory employees have been rehired for similar lab work as the Frederick Cancer Research Center project proceeds. The $6.85 million prime contract, the largest NIH award to date, funds renovation and operation, with award-fee terms. A new Frederick Operations Division will manage the center, led by Dr. Robert E. Stevenson, who returns from a similar NCI post. The startup cadre relies mainly on current Litton Bionetics and Ft. Detrick staff, with plans to reach about 150 personnel soon.
