Shoemaking topics at Frederick Lions Club meeting
William Plummer, manager of the Hanover Shoe Company plant in Middletown, spoke at the Francis Scott Key Hotel on shoe making. The Middletown plant, over twenty years old, turns out about 10,000 upper shoes weekly, with 150 workers, 130 women. Major issues include leather uniformity and long training for cutters. A Grams family reunion is set for July 17 at Gathland State Park. Also, Miss Mary E E Molesworth made Muhlenberg College's Dean's List.
