Hearing Set In Muggings In City
A preliminary hearing on robbery charges for two men, James Edward Boyce and Preston Allen Patterson, both 18, is scheduled for Wednesday in Magistrate's Court. A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested. police seek to waive jurisdiction. The men were linked to a mugging of a 62-year-old man, June 14, during which $30 was taken and minor injuries occurred. Additional muggings Saturday left Cliffold L. Garrett and Russell L. Shipe with about $100 taken, and Steve Singer with $35. Detectives Ellis G. Carty, Paul W. Mossburg, and William E. Shepley led the arrests.
