The American Legion Home saw a theft of whiskey and gin and 330 in cash from a cigarette machine, with a broken door lock and estimated damage about 470. Police, including day and night shifts, pursued the case.

Barnesville Home Struck By Lightning
A Barnesville farm house owned by Mrs. David Clark was struck by lightning late Sunday night. The meter and fuse boxes were destroyed and a hole burned through the side. Mrs. Carson Ward, tenant’s wife,received emergency medical treatment after the flash frightened her. Firefighters from Upper Montgomery County contained the blaze and noted all electric fixtures were burned out. Insurance reportedly covers the damage. Mrs. Clark lives in Laytonsville and rents the farm to the Wards.
