A B and O freight train struck a car stalled on the Wamaville crossing near Ijamsville early today. The 1838 Plymouth sedan owned by William R. Diggs ran onto the tracks, burst into flames, and derailed the locomotive. No injuries were reported.

Two Guilty Of Speeding In Peeples Court
Two speeding defendants were convicted before Magistrate H Reese Shoemaker Jr in Pee bles Court this morning. Virgil T Holmes of Washington was fined 10 dollars and costs for exceeding 50 and 30 mile limits after being paced by Sgt W W Corbin from Braddock mountain to West College Terrace. Holmes claimed he did not know where the 30 mile zone began. James Reeves of Forest Hills pleaded guilty to exceeding 50 and was fined 25 dollars plus costs. Reeves was stopped on Route 26 near Frederick after noting a fast car behind him. Additional cases listed several defendants with fines for improper passing and reckless driving, with arrests by Capt Magaha, Sgt Corbin, and Trooper James Lewis.

Charleo Jackson of 12 West All Saints street was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital in fair condition after an alleged head strike at the colored Legion home following a late night fracas.
