Four teens face assault with intent to murder charges in a fatal Maryland case. Adrian Pilkington died after being stabbed and hurled from a Maryland Virginia crossing into the Potomac. The suspects gave differing accounts as authorities reconstruct the sequence from Frederick County Court filings.
The 20 year old Adrian Pilkington of Knoxville was found dead in the Potomac River near Brunswick campground after being missing since Tuesday. Four Frederick residents, including two juveniles, were arrested on charges related to his disappearance and will be tried as adults. Autopsy to be performed in Baltimore.
School board announces several leadership appointments effective July 1 as Deer Crossing gains a principal before opening. Linda Burgee will lead Deer Crossing next summer, while Rebecca Karp moves to Spring Ridge Elementary. Donna Faith becomes Windsor Knolls High acting principal and Nancy Doll becomes an assistant principal at Brunswick High. Linda Hezlop shifts to Yellow Springs Elementary as assistant principal.
Susan C. Nicol reports on a North American Police Work Dog Association workshop hosted by Frederick City Police at the Holiday Inn and Harry Grove Stadium. With 125 dogs and handlers from at least a dozen states, the event features a 6:30 p.m. public K-9 demonstration and seven training sites across the county, highlighting the dogs’ diverse skills beyond just aggression.
