Four civil suits totaling more than 1 million dollars are filed in Frederick County Circuit Court. A Mt Airy father seeks 750000 against Montgomery Ward over his daughter Jo an McCabe s alleged false arrest and related claims at the Frederick Towne Mall on December 6. Others include actions by West Patrick Street residents for 100500 against Adamstown man over a March 25 1976 crash on U S 40 and Linden Avenue and Mt Airy residents seeking 100000 against Gordon Long over a June 19 1973 accident on Glissons Mill Road. The McCarthys of Ijamsville sue Howard Zimmerman for 56000 claiming late finances. Music 76 opens at Sylvan Theatre in DC with free nightly performances through Sept 6 1976 featuring 24 singers a 20 piece orchestra and fireworks nightly except Mondays.

YMCA Staff Trains in Basic Cardiac Life Support
Thirty five Frederick Counts YMCA staff completed a six hour CPR course taught by the American Heart Association. Participants came from Day Camp Aquatic Summer Fun Aerobic Dancing Kiddie Kollege and Front Desk areas. The program, led by Tom Powers and four instructors, combined theory with hands on practice and testing.
