City playgrounds open in Frederick with morning signups
Frederick city playgrounds open today with staff registering many children. Activities run 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with Friday mornings open and afternoons reserved for staff meetings. A truck delivers equipment each morning. Baker Park hosts a softball game while Mullinix Park sees many children playing volleyball, kickball, basketball and croquet. Special summer events include a Salute to America, track and field meet, arts and crafts exhibition and a party for Joseph E. Lee with times to be announced.
