Road Improvement Planned for Carroll and Frederick Counties
State and county roads in Carroll and Frederick counties will receive surface treatments totaling over 40 miles this year. Engineer Thomas McLinthicum says Frederick will handle a larger share this season, with several routes from Route 340 to Briketteville and Rosemont to Route 340 scheduled for work. Additional improvements include routes toward Loys Station, Elferton, Ballenger Creek Pike, and multiple sections of Route 15, with work possibly delayed past Independence Day due to heavy traffic.

Frederick Chapter DeMolay Mothers Circle met Monday night in the Evangelical Lutheran chapel with Mrs Roy R Gosnell presiding. Mrs Joseph B Price Sr served as chaplain in Mrs Sam Gardner s absence. They agreed to seek a charter and approved a gratitude note from Frederick Chapter for robes funds. A picnic is set for July 21 at Mrs Milton Franks Tuscarora Lodge near Yellow Springs, with bus transportation.
