Cincinnati dispatch reports Secretary of War Taft plans a summer vacation starting early July. He will likely visit Hot Springs Virginia for three to four weeks and be in Cincinnati around July 20 to receive formal nomination notification. He may stay in Washington until a Republican subcommittee meeting on July 1 wraps.

President Roosevelt and Mrs. Roosevelt attended a morning service at Christ Church in Oyster Bay on June 22 during vacation. Rev. Henry Washburn preached on confirmation. Less than 150 villagers were present as the President rode to church in the family carriage and sat in the rear pew with Mrs. Roosevelt.
James Cantillion of Marionette Wisconsin who was declared hopeless and expected to stay blind regained sight during a hysterical episode at Bellevue hospital after surgeons abandoned that an operation would help. He had lost sight in one eye from an accident and the other eye faded due to sympathetic affection. Surgeons then planned no operation and Cantillion cried out that he could see and tears showed the right eye nearly restored. Doctors now hope to finish the core.
