Councilman Leggett named in 41M harassment suit
Montgomery County Councilman Isiah Leggett is accused in a 41 million suit of sexually harassing former worker Anne Renee Colbert and blocking her reemployment. The suit, filed June 14 in Montgomery County Circuit Court, also names the county government. Colbert, 36 pages, alleges coercion and promises of a permanent job in exchange for unwelcome relations. The county calls the suit a work of fiction. Colbert previously sought help after a 1988 attempt at self harm amid alleged hostile conditions. Colbert had worked for Leggett and Councilman Scull before mid 1986 and later claimed job loss and unemployment benefits.
